3. Where did they come from?

After the destruction of the Toltec capital of Tula (Veracruz), a wave of Chichimeca (a Nahuatl speaking group) migrated to the area of Puebla and Tlaxcala. Some of them became the founding lords of Quauhquechollan, around the year AD 1093.
